Hi! I’m Zach

I am an 18-year-old student, still at school. I was born in Switzerland to Scottish and South African parents. I am interested in music, sport, and issues of identity and social justice. I am hoping to study Law in the future.

I decided to do this podcast on issues of identity in intergenerational mixed-race families because I was finding it difficult to communicate with my peers what it meant and what it felt like to be mixed-race. I was getting tired of being put in a box and constantly questioned about where I and my parents came from,

The podcast has helped me explore my feelings about my own identity through conversations with other really fascinating people and their histories. 

​

I want this podcast to give people a more nuanced understanding of and vocabulary for thinking and talking about what it is to be mixed-race.
